Our Trip to Tennessee

We went to Tennessee this week to visit Gabe's sister and brother-in-law and their sweet five kiddos. Here is a lovely video montage of our trip.

Jean-Claude Grand Am!

I was getting gas at Kroger today, and my dear first car, Jean-Claude Grand Am pulled right up to the gas pump in front of me. I couldn't believe it. I knew right away that it was him, and upon further inspection, I was able to confirm that it was him. He was with me when I graduated from high school, college and it took us into the sunset when Gabe and I got married...good times. My sweet brother Chad reluctantly took this picture of Cannon and I with Jean-Claude.

Our Child Prodigy

Cannon is a very gifted artist. Here is his abstract painting that he has entitled, "Puppy Dog".

Cannon's brother from another mother...

Cannon's best bud, Noah, came over and spent the morning with us today. The boys had a great time playing together as always! Also, I realize how cheesy the music is on this video, but I don't know how to change it now that the video is created...so, my apologies to all who have to listen to it.

Six Months of Little Gym

Here is a video montage of Cannon's first six months of Little Gym. He has had a blast and is looking forward to the rest of the year!

Don't Talk

In case you didn't know this about Cannon, he can be a little bit controlling at times. I don't know where he gets that from??? Probably Gabe. Anyway, my Mom and I were visiting at dinner the other night and Cannon didn't want us to talk. Here we are asking him about it:

Run, Run, Safe!

Cannon and Daddy like to play baseball...or at least a version of it called "run, run, safe!" Daddy throws the ball, Cannon swings his bat, then he runs "the bases" and slides back to the starting point and says he's safe. It's adorable.

Story Time with Grandma Angel

We had a nice visit with my grandparents yesterday afternoon. Here is a little clip of Cannon reading with his great-grandma...

Our Little Baseball Fan

Gabe and I took Cannon to his second Astros game yesterday afternoon. We can honestly say that Cannon is a true baseball fan. He was so enthralled with what was going on and reacted with such passion over each play...at least for the first two innings. Then he was off to the stairs and in search of a cold capri sun and a five dollar tub of popcorn...

Crazy Houston Weather

People joke that the weather changes every five minutes, but seriously...it does. At approximately 4:34 pm, Cannon and I were enjoying the Texas sunshine in our lovely backyard. We had been out there for about an hour, so I told Cannon that it was time to head inside to take a bath. By the time I pulled Cannon out of the bath, our house was completely dark and it sounded as if we were under paintball attack. We went to look out back and our deck, flowerbeds and Cannon's picnic table umbrella (now upside down from the wind) were covered with ice pellets. We were having a massive hail storm. So do you understand this scenario...It's one hundred and one degrees at one moment and the next there's an umbrella that looks like a snow cone. I was truly taken by this. Crazy Houston weather.

Blog 2.0

So let's try this blog thing again. A couple of my good friends with their cute blogs have inspired me to get this thing going again. The first time around it was kind of like the diary I had when I was seven years old. I started off strong, faithfully making new entries to my dear diary (and in this case new posts to my dear blog). Hopefully this time around I'll be a little bit more consistent. But it may just turn out like the forgotten diary I had when I was nine. Only time will tell...
